ADE Procurement Initiative
NDIS Information for potential providers of supported employment
Organisations or individuals wanting further information on how to become an employment provider for people with disability under the NDIS should contact the National Disability Insurance Agency on freecall 1800 800 110 or check the provider tab on the NDIS website for information about registering as a provider.
The Department of Social Services has contracted National Disability Services (NDS) to provide a range of social procurement initiatives. Funding of $700,000 will build on NDS’s BuyAbility Social Procurement Specialists service providing procurement opportunities for government and commercial/corporate purchases, while assisting ADEs to better position themselves through the transition to the NDIS.
As well as developing an online procurement initiative, NDS will deliver sector development by connecting and promoting relationships between buyers and ADE suppliers; provide education and training to ADEs on government and commercial/corporate procurement process, such as how to prepare a competitive tender response; and they will develop a communication and branding strategy to promote ADEs.
These initiatives are designed to improve the procurement opportunities for ADEs and give them greater visibility and viability in the marketplace as they transition to the NDIS.
