Counselling, Support, Information and Advocacy - Carer Support Services

Counselling, Support, Information and Advocacy (CSIA) – carer support services, provide carers with assistance to understand and manage situations, behaviours and relationships associated with care needs of the person they are caring for.

Services provided under CSIA – carer support services include:

  • emotional support and informal counselling
  • telephone support
  • drop-in centres
  • home visits to isolated carers; and
  • peer support goups.

CSIA is provided by 54 government, non-government and community organisations.

CSIA – carer support services were formerly part of the Commonwealth Home and Community Care (HACC) program.
