Financial Wellbeing and Capability grants round now open!

Community service providers can now apply for a share of $328 million to support vulnerable Australians build financial self-reliance and help them through times of crisis.

On 16 July 2018, Minister Tehan announced the Financial Wellbeing and Capability Activity grants round.

Minister Tehan said around 400 community organisations are expected to benefit from the Government funding and it will guarantee service providers can continue their excellent work supporting people to navigate financial crises and build financial wellbeing, capability and resilience.

An open grants round will be offering up to $200 million in Emergency Relief, with a further $78 million dedicated to grants for Food Relief, Commonwealth Financial Counselling and Financial Capability and Financial Counselling Helpline services.

A further $50 million will support organisations to deliver Financial Counselling for Problem Gambling, Money Support Hubs, Financial Resilience and Financial Counselling and Financial Capability – Capability Building.

Applications for the Financial Wellbeing and Capability Activity open grants round close on 22 August 2018 with new funding to commence from 1 January 2019.
