The Dubbo Study of the Health of the Elderly

Assets and Health Dynamics among the 'old' old in a regional community (AHEAD Australia)

The Dubbo Study of the Health of the Elderly, incorporating the new Assets and Health Dynamics study, is Australia’s longest running and most published longitudinal study on the elderly. It is a rich data resource for intervention trials and a valuable source of high quality data for research topics. A key feature of the AHEAD study is the collection of ‘linkage’ data that has been made possible via the contributions of industry partners, the Department of Family and Community Services (FaCS), the Department of Health and Ageing and Southern Cross Homes. The AHEAD study has collected assets and income data, Medicare records and Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme (PBS) records for consenting participants.
