Yutpundji-Djindiwirritj (Roper Bar) Land Claim

This report presents the findings and recommendations of the Aboriginal Land Commissioner following an inquiry into the Yutpundji-Djindiwirritj (Roper Bar) Land Claim (Application No. 36), a traditional land claim application submitted by the Northern Land Council under section 50(1)(a) of the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 on 15 March 1979.

The report was provided to the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and the Administrator of the Northern Territory on 31 March 1982.

The land subject to claim comprised an area of approximately 156 square kilometres and is located south of the Roper River, between the Jalboi and Wilton Rivers, with the Hodgson River to the south-east.
