This report presents the findings and recommendations of the Aboriginal Land Commissioner following an inquiry into the Mount Barkly Land Claim (Application No. 57), a traditional land claim application submitted by the Central Land Council under section 50(1)(a) of the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 on 12 June 1981.
The report was provided to the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and the Administrator of the Northern Territory on 30 May 1985.
The land subject to claim was Mount Barkly station, comprising Northern Territory Portion 360, which was alienated Crown land subject to Pastoral Lease No. 634 and approximately 2,590 square kilometres in area.
