Kenbi (Cox Peninsula) Land Claim: Reasons for decisions on procedural and jurisdictional matters

This report presents the reasons for various decisions on procedural and jurisdictional matters by the Aboriginal Land Commissioner and the High Court of Australia in respect of the Kenbi (Cox Peninsula) Land Claim (Application No. 37), a traditional land claim application submitted by the Northern Land Council under section 50(1)(a) of the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 on 20 March 1979.

The report was published in 1984, before any inquiry into the land claim application had been conducted by an Aboriginal Land Commissioner.

Two subsequent inquiries into the Kenbi (Cox Peninsula) Land Claim (Application No. 37) were conducted by the Aboriginal Land Commissioner, resulting in a report to the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and the Administrator of the Northern Territory on 21 February 1991 and a later report to the Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs and the Administrator of the Northern Territory on 12 December 2000.
