Stronger Futures in the Northern Territory is the Australian Government’s $3.4 billion commitment to Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory to work in partnership with them over the next 10 years to drive positive change.
The National Partnership Agreement on Stronger Futures in the Northern Territory gives effect to the Australian and Northern Territory Government’s commitment to work with Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory. It aims to support Aboriginal people, particularly in remote communities, to live strong, independent lives, where communities, families and children are safe and healthy.
Signed by the Commonwealth Minister for Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, Jobs Schedule J supports the Commonwealth’s 10-year commitment to improving the employment, career development and retention of Aboriginal people and draws together the Aboriginal employment goals and targets across elements of the Stronger Futures package for which the Commonwealth has implementation responsibility.
Schedule J complements employment targets agreed for relevant elements of the nine Implementation Plans underpinning the Stronger Futures National Partnership Agreement and also incorporates commitments made through the Jobs Package announced in November 2011.
The signed Jobs Schedule PDF [6.8MB] is posted on the Federal Financial Relations website as a commitment to public accountability.
