This report is the first in a series of annual reports to the Council of Australian Governments and the general public on the Protecting Children is Everyone’s Business: National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children 2009–2020 (the National Framework).  The report details the progress made and challenges faced during the first year of implementation of the National Framework.

This report is for Commonwealth, State and Territory governments, non-government organisations and service providers.  The information contained in this report will also be of interest to individuals working with children or people who are concerned about children and their wellbeing.

The report tracks progress and highlights achievements in implementing the first year of the National Framework.   The report details actions taken by the Commonwealth, State and Territory governments and non-government organisations through the Coalition of Organisations Committed to the Safety and Wellbeing of Australia’s Children, in the first year of the National Framework.
