Disability Services Standards (Advocacy Standards) 2012 – Easy Read version

Easy Read version

The Easy Read booklet has been developed as a resource for people with disability accessing advocacy support funded under the National Disability Advocacy Program (NDAP). It uses pictures and less complex language to explain the Standards against which the quality of support provided by disability advocacy agencies is assessed.

It is anticipated that some people may not be able to understand and work through the booklet independently. For ease of use, and to facilitate delivery in stages by a support person, the booklet is set out in discrete sections - one per Standard. Each section includes a heading page identifying the Standard (that can be printed and used as a poster), an explanation of what the person with disability can expect from their advocacy agency, and a story to illustrate its meaning.
