Burdekin - Youth in Action Inc Supporting Young Parents $54,120 The project improves the parenting skills of young and expectant parents through practical skills development and culturally appropriate service provision.  It provides one-on-one support and mentoring to young and/or expectant parents. Weekly young mum's session held in Broome and a family support worker is employed to mentor young parents in their homes in Broome and the communities of Beagle Bay, One Arm Point and Lombadina-Djarindjin to benefit both parents and their children. 08 9193 6391

Gosnells Women's Health Service Building Stronger Families Project $123,785 The project enhances parenting and relationship knowledge and skills for new and existing parents and families with children under 18 years in Gosnells. It enables participants to maintain positive relationships, facilitates access to resources and professional support services, and assists them to build support networks in the community. Ishar Multicultural Centre for Women's Health Parenting from the Heart $135,300 The project is run in Mirrabooka and helps migrants from North Perth Metropolitan area develop parenting, relationship, job searching, educational, leadership and volunteering skills; and to adapt to Australian society, while preserving their traditional values. It educates and empowers participants, and fosters harmony and integration within the community. 08 9345 5335
Ishar Multicultural Centre for Women's Health Visiting Sisters $88,926 The project trains bilingual women as outreach workers to visit members of their community as 'Visiting Sisters'. Training of workers and parent support groups are run in Mirrabooka providing information to mothers on parenting skills and nutrition, and encouraging women to enrol in training programs and support groups aimed at developing their economic empowerment, self-esteem and personal strength. Jacaranda Community Centre Inc Strengthening Disadvantaged Families for a Better Future $126,449 The project works with Indigenous families in Belmont to achieve positive changes for the community. It addresses local issues and conducts workshops, courses, meetings and playgroups to improve parenting skills, education and employment levels, and to reduce domestic violence, as well as the number of Indigenous children in care and detention. 08 9477 4346
Kimberley Aboriginal Law and Culture Centre Aboriginal Corporation Yiriman Project $129,663 The Yiriman project based in Fitzroy Crossing aims to facilitate and strengthen relationships between Indigenous women and families across four language groups in the West Kimberley region. It reinforces the legitimacy of senior family and community leadership. Metropolitan Migrant Resource Centre Leadership Development for New and Emerging Community Groups $101,475 The project provides leadership training programs in Mirrabooka for young people from across the metropolitan area.  It promotes self awareness and expression, and encourages young people to develop productive ways to address issues faced by their community. 08 9345 5755
Northcliffe Family Centre Inc Northcliffe - Sharing More Than Just Skills $36,898 The project assists people in the rural and remote community of Northcliffe to address social and geographical isolation, as well as helping to strengthen young families and enable them to cope with change.
