Higher Accommodation Supplement
From 1 July 2014, the Government will pay a higher accommodation supplement on behalf of residents who qualify for government assistance with their accommodation costs in residential aged care facilities that are new or have been significantly refurbished since 20 April 2012.
Accommodation Bond Retention Amount
A retention amount may be deducted from an accommodation bond balance or included in a bond periodic payment for each month, or part of a month that a care recipient is resident in a home, for a maximum of five years across all homes in which a person resides.
Maximum Bond and Charge Interest Rate
The Maximum Bond Interest Rate is the maximum interest rate chargeable on accommodation bonds paid after the due date, periodic payments, and overdue fees under a resident agreement, bond agreement or extra service agreement which are deducted from the accommodation bond balance.
