Short Description: For disability conferences held within Australia

Applications for the 2009-2010 National Disability Conference Funding Program round have now closed. Applications for the 2010 -2011 round of funding will be advertised in early 2010.

An allocation of funds is provided each year to support national and international disability conferences held within Australia. These funds are administered through the Disability Policy and Coordination Branch.

The funding has previously been provided to eligible conference organisers to enable them to support the inclusion of people with disability at disability-focused conferences. These funds are provided to conference organisers to:

  • assist people with disability, their carers and/or families with costs such as conference registration, accommodation and travel, and
  • facilitate access to the conference for people with disability, their carers and/or families by, for example, funding Auslan interpreters and hearing loops for people who are deaf or hearing impaired; and/or provide material in alternate formats, and/or note-takers.
