Acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and traditions as one of the oldest living cultures in the world is at the heart of Creative Australia, the Government’s new national cultural policy. A key component of Creative Australia is new funding to ensure the cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are embedded in modern Australian life.
New funding includes:
- $13.98 million for the development of community driven language resources and activities to continue to preserve Australia’s first languages, and
- $11.26 million to continue the support for Indigenous visual artists and their art centres.
