December 3 this year is the 21st birthday of International Day of People with Disability.
The United Nations sanctioned day celebrates progress in breaking down barriers, opening doors, and realising an inclusive society for all.
The day recognises the abilities and achievements of people with disability and the contribution they make to their local communities and their country.
Hundreds of events are being held across Australia to mark the occasion. They include sailing, surfing and golfing activities, educational forums, film festivals, art exhibitions and dance displays.
How will you celebrate? There is still time to join in with a morning tea, a wheel/push/walking group, or a sausage sizzle. Host an event for your organisation and help us celebrate right across Australia.
