Compliance Reviews - Improved Service Profiling 

What's New?


The Government will provide funding to conduct an additional 147,000 random service profiling reviews on customers receiving Newstart Allowance, Youth Allowance, Austudy, Age Pension, Disability Support Pension and Parenting Payment.

The random reviews will help FaCS and Centrelink improve the targeting of customer contacts, and ensure that those customers most at risk of receiving an incorrect payment or failing to meet their participation obligations have their payment reviewed. The measure also includes a capacity to pilot new risk predictors.
 

Background


This measure builds on the capability provided in the original measure announced in the 2001–02 Budget, 'Allow Better Targeted Investigations'. The measure was implemented as service profiling, and provided for more intensive reviews of customers.

Approximately 975,000 reviews are currently conducted under service profiling each year. The customers reviewed are part of a population of over four million income support recipients.
